The plot starts out with two individuals, Juan Ignacio and José Angel, who spend their days sitting on a sofa. They have actually spent most of their life so far on this sofa but now that their fortieth birthday is rapidly approaching, this situation is about to reach its breaking point.
The Borràs Theatre is staging a production in Castilian that wavers between the comedic and the bittersweet, as is usually the case with stories cooked up by Álex de la Iglesia, the director behind highly successful Spanish films such as La Comunidad, El Día de la Bestia and Crimen Ferpecto.
The plot starts out with two individuals, Juan Ignacio and José Angel, who spend their days sitting on a sofa. They have actually spent most of their life so far on this sofa but now that their fortieth birthday is rapidly approaching, this situation is about to reach its breaking point.
Juan Ignacio decides to change his life. The next day, he wakes up bright and early for the first time and seizes the day: he gets his driver's license, learns English and sends out 2,000 CVs. He even finds time to pick up Grace Kelly. Things couldn't get any better. And as if this wasn't already enough, NASA calls to offer him a job!
Meanwhile, José Angel seeks solace from his online lover with whom he has nurtured a five year-long relationship.
The catharsis comes in the shape of a telegram that announces that End of the World is imminent. Two hours remain until the Final Judgement, two hours to accomplish all that which has eluded them thus far. What will they do? Sit back and watch TV so as not to break with old habits or turn their lives upside down now that the end is near?
