The Palau de la Música Catalana is governed by a Consorci (Consortium) - made up of the Orfeó Català, the Generalitat de Catalunya (autonomous government) the Ajuntament de Barcelona (City Council), and the Diputació de Barcelona (Provincial Government) - which manages its activity.

It plays host to musical seasons arranged by different organisations, with a frequency exceeding three hundred sessions per year, and with a total audience of over half a million people.
